The Colne Valley Park
The Colne Valley Regional Park extends from Rickmansworth to Staines. On London's doorstep, the Park is very important for wildlife and countryside recreation, especially for water-based activities. It is a breathing space for many living in the towns close by.
Part of the Park falls within Chalfont St Peter Parish in Chiltern District. The aim is to make the Colne Valley a greener and more enjoyable place in which to live, work and play. This is set out in the " Colne Valley Regional Park Action Plan 2003 - 2006".
Also playing a major role is Groundwork Thames Valley, an environmental charity with a good track record in projects for wildlife conservation, restoration of derelict land and environmental education.
