Changes to your bill for 2019-20: Buckinghamshire County Council charges
The Adult Social Care precept was introduced in 2016/17. This allowed Local Authorities with responsibility for Adult Social Care to increase their Council tax by up to 5.99% as long at 3% was ring-fenced for Adult Social Care. This is required to be shown as two separate amounts on the Council Tax bill.
For 2019/20 Buckinghamshire County Council is increasing it's Council Tax charge by 2.99% in total. The basic charge for Council Tax is increasing, but the Adult Social Care element is remaining the same as in 2018/19.
Example: for a Band D property
Charge for Bucks CC for 2018/19 - £1,291.04 (includes £93.66 for adult social care)
Charge for Bucks CC for 2019/20 - £1,329.64 (includes £93.66 for adult social care)
The increase is £38.60 or 2.99 per cent.
Central government has set out how the increases are calculated and how the percentage increases are worked out. The way the information relating to adult social care has to be shown on your council tax bill is also set by central government. Local authorities are required to follow these instructions.
